THE BEST OF INDOCHINA – VIETNAM, CAMBODIA, LAOS

THE TRIP

This 15-day itinerary crosses the best of Indochina, bringing together in one journey three extraordinary destinations: Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. It is designed for those who want to experience Southeast Asia in a complete way, alternating cities rich in history, spectacular natural landscapes, major archaeological sites and moments of authentic contact with local cultures. The journey begins in Hanoi, Vietnam’s elegant and vibrant capital, where the charm of tradition intertwines with the vitality of the old quarter, historic temples and the unique atmosphere of water puppetry.

The route continues toward Ha Long Bay or Lan Ha Bay, to be experienced with one night on a cruise among limestone islands, caves, kayaking and emerald waters, in one of Asia’s most iconic natural settings. It then continues into central Vietnam with Hue, the ancient imperial capital, where the Forbidden City, the Pagoda of the Celestial Lady and the royal tombs reveal the country’s most solemn and refined face. From here you reach Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage city made of ancient alleyways, temples, historic bridges and architecture that still preserves an intact charm.

The next stop is Ho Chi Minh City, an intense and dynamic metropolis where the historical memory of the Cu Chi Tunnels and the War Remnants Museum stands alongside the energy of southern Vietnam. The journey then opens to the more authentic landscapes of the Mekong Delta, with boat navigation, rural villages, orchards and daily life along the river.

The second part of the itinerary leads to Cambodia, to Siem Reap, the gateway to the wonderful temple complex of Angkor. Here you discover Angkor Thom, Ta Prohm and Angkor Wat, places of extraordinary symbolic power and monumental beauty that convey the full greatness of the Khmer civilization. Finally, you reach Luang Prabang in Laos, one of the most fascinating and spiritual cities in Southeast Asia, among ancient pagodas, sacred caves on the Mekong, turquoise waterfalls and evening markets full of atmosphere.

It is a rich, harmonious and deeply evocative journey, ideal for those who want to grasp the most authentic essence of Indochina through a complete, elegant and memorable route.

LOABI TIPS

This is an ideal itinerary for those who want an intense yet harmonious journey, with a good balance of cultural visits, natural landscapes and moments of authentic discovery. We recommend approaching it with practical luggage, very comfortable shoes and a flexible spirit, because the charm of Laos and Vietnam can also be found in the details: a slow boat ride, a local market, a lively street, a silent pagoda or a simple but memorable dinner. It is useful to bring light, breathable clothing, but also something more covering for religious places and for any air-conditioned environments or longer transfers.

This itinerary allows you to cross two very different yet perfectly complementary souls of Southeast Asia. Laos fascinates with its quiet spirituality, slow rhythms and strong sense of harmony, while Vietnam captivates with its energy, historical richness, variety of landscapes and lively cities. It is precisely this contrast, so well balanced along the route, that makes the journey particularly interesting, engaging and rich in nuances.
